Martin Luther King Day 1/19/14
All member congregations are cordially invited to the 30th annual Martin Luther King Celebration and Kelso Lecture in Honor of Dr. King, offered jointly by East End Cooperative Ministry and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. The event will be hosted by Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 250 North Highland Ave., at Penn Circle North, in East Liberty, on Sunday, January 19, 2014. In the continuing tradition of interfaith cooperation, the Celebration will be co-hosted by North Way Christian Community, whose East End congregation also meets in East Liberty. Music begins at 3:30 pm; the service itself starts at 4:00 pm.
Admission is free, and everyone in the Pittsburgh area is cordially invited to attend. EECM member congregations are asked to bring three dozen cookies for the reception. Donations of canned goods or other non-perishable food for the EECM food pantry are strongly encouraged: they will be collected at the door.
This annual gathering provides a significant opportunity for people of different faith traditions to celebrate together, so please mark your calendars now. For further information, please contact East End Cooperative Ministry at (412) 361-5549 or eecm.
