Friends World Committee for Consultation (FWCC): March 24, 9:30am Open to New Light from Wherever It May Come Gretchen Castle, General Secretary of FWCC World Office, will speak from her experience of working with Friends worldwide. New to the post in London, she will share her vision, “connecting Friends, crossing cultures, and changing lives.” Gretchen is originally from Indiana and Iowa (FUM), and lived in the Philadelphia area for over 30 years. She served in various capacities for Friends General Conference, Pendle Hill, Friends Services for the Aging, and Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, including serving as presiding clerk of PYM. Gretchen currently lives in London and is enjoying meeting Friends around the world, sharing her passion for Friends’ contribution to making the world a better place.
American Friends Service Committee (AFSC): March 24 at 12.15pm, AFSC’s Racial Justice through Human Rights youth group will share two videos they have created on education. One, “Educating Hope”, is a prize winner in the “If I had a Trillion Dollars” film festival. They will also be talking about their upcoming trip to D.C. and asking Meeting help in getting them there.
